clubhouse chat: good company

wednesday is for community, and the science this week is basically a love letter. you already know the clubhouse is your third place — turns out the people in it might be the single best thing you're doing for your health.

the glow file

the longest-running study on happiness ever conducted — harvard has been following people for more than 85 years — keeps landing on the same answer: good relationships are the strongest predictor of a long, healthy, happy life. stronger than money, fame, or even cholesterol levels at fifty. people who felt most connected at midlife were the healthiest at eighty. the study's director put it in one line: loneliness kills, and good relationships protect. even the dating apps caught on — tinder just named friendfluence a defining 2026 trend, with 42 percent of singles saying their friends steer their love life. so yes — tonight's hang counts as healthcare, and the group chat has range.

the piggy bank

a toronto hospital looked at its patients and decided housing is medicine: st. michael's started a one million dollar fund that pays rent for patients about to lose their homes — the first program of its kind at any hospital in ontario. the doctors call it preventative medicine. we call it the community showing up before the emergency.

heard at the clubhouse

the biggest kids' show on earth just learned a new language: bluey now speaks yolŋu matha, one of the oldest living languages on the planet — the first time the show has ever been dubbed in a first nations language. kids in arnhem land get to hear the world's favorite blue heeler in their grandmother's words. culture, passed down the couch.

the sunshine page

new york has new neighbors: critically endangered lemur twins were just born at the central park zoo — black-and-white ruffed lemurs named maso and tonga, two tiny wins for a species that badly needed them. and in cincinnati, a shelter kitten named gelato was too small for any wheelchair on the market, so a vet assistant built him one out of hot wheels. he's already zooming. community is just building the thing your people need.

the dress code

editor's pick: the varsity cap in club cream, happy & hot, thirty-two dollars. the neutral that matches everyone in the group photo — coffee runs, run clubs, and whoever you're bringing wednesday.

the passed note

the standing invite: pick one person, one time, one place — and make it repeat. same walk every wednesday, same coffee every friday. an 85-year study says the relationship is the health plan, and a recurring hang means nobody has to plan it twice. put one on the calendar tonight.

send this to a friend. that's how the club grows.

health is hot.
