clubhouse chat: green flag

3 min read

paris fashion week is doing the most this weekend, your group chat is doing recaps, and somewhere in between your sunday is quietly asking for its turn. the freshman is watching runway tiktoks horizontal in bed. the thirty-something has the scaries and three monday tabs already open. the grandmother never needed a word for any of it, she just takes her walk after lunch and lets the week sort itself out. she has been right the whole time, and this week science finally put a number on it. last sunday we rehearsed the week. today we take the show outside. the passed note turns it into a plan before tomorrow's new block opens.

the glow file

how much time in nature do you need? about two hours a week. a university of exeter team asked nearly twenty thousand people in england how they had spent the past seven days, and the ones who logged at least one hundred twenty minutes in parks, woods or beaches reported significantly better health and wellbeing. under two hours, no measurable bump at all. the gossip-worthy part is how little it cares about your method: one long saturday ramble or a handful of twenty minute loops scored the same, most visits happened within two miles of home, and the effect held across age, income and chronic illness. the study ran in scientific reports, the plain english version lives at sciencedaily, and the prescription costs nothing. speaking of prescriptions someone else picked up the tab on.

the piggy bank

kentucky just erased two hundred fifty million dollars of medical debt for more than one hundred thirty thousand people. the state put up two and a half million, handed it to the nonprofit undue medical debt, and because old hospital debt sells for pennies, every single state dollar wiped out about one hundred dollars owed. the first forty six thousand letters are landing in mailboxes now, no application, no catch, just a note saying the bill is gone. governor andy beshear called it the right thing to do, and the club calls it the best mail anyone will open all year. the week's softest flex, though, happened on a runway.

heard at the clubhouse

apple martin walked her first runway at the chloé show in paris this week, and the clubhouse felt every generation of it at once. the freshman knows her from tiktok, the thirty-something grew up on her mother's 1998 everything, and the grandmother remembers the pink oscar dress like it was a family event. designer chemena kamali sent out eyelet dresses and pastels while claudia schiffer and alexa chung watched from the front row, and whowhatwear has the full look. fashion month passes the baton whether anyone plans it or not. the sunshine page kept the handoffs going.

the sunshine page

win one: in tanzania, three hundred sixty eight farmers gave up slices of their own land to stitch together the country's first protected wildlife corridor, nine miles of safe passage linking the savanna to the udzungwa mountains, and trail cameras have already counted five hundred twenty nine elephants using it. win two: california made balcony solar official, with the plug and play solar act signed september thirtieth so renters can plug small panels straight into a wall outlet, with estimated savings up to four hundred fifty dollars a year. now, about what you wear for your two hours.

the dress code

the form seamless sculpt sports bra in winter rose are thirty-five dollars and they are the bottom half of the block uniform. yesterday's post put the winter rose leggings on the roster for glute block 2.0, and the matching sculpt bra finishes the fit for sunday walks, monday squats and everything in between. wear the rose, take the winter. ten pairs on the shelf as of this morning.

the passed note

book your two hours like classes: four thirty minute walks, say monday, tuesday, thursday and saturday, all inside your own zip code. the dating apps call staying close to home zip-coding and cannot decide if it is toxic. applied to parks instead of people it is pure green flag, because the exeter data says the park two streets over counts exactly as much as the national one. bonus credit: tomorrow glute block 2.0 opens at two sessions a week, and if that number sounds suspiciously small, the archive already made the case for twice a week. rest today. outside is the greenest flag there is.

send this to a friend. that's how the club grows.

health is hot.
